Telus gets into porn biz

p2pnet.net News:- Canada’s Telus has been spying on cellphone users and what it saw led it to start touting pornography.

As of January 8, it was offering ‘adult content’ to its Canadian cellphone customers on a “pay-per-download” basis, says The National Post.

Telus spokesman Jim Johannsson said the company can track what its customers are searching for via Internet connections on their cellphones and noticed a definite interest in some of the Web’s more provocative sites.

“We can’t see at an individual level, but we can tell on an aggregate level if they’re going to Google or Canoe, and we could see they were heading to adult-oriented Web sites,” the story has him saying.

Telus’ cellphone porn, available “in a very responsible way” on a pay-per-download basis, will cost punters $3 to $4 for each item on average, says The National Post.”

It quotes Johannsson as saying adult content downloads call for age verification and are compliant with provincial standards and regulations.

Wait, you mean to tell me that they spied on people to see if there was an interest in pr0n? That’s not necessary - it’s a given there are a bunch of sickos willing to look that stuff through an internet connection.

Too bad that the cell phone companies endorses this behavior in spying and marketing for pr0n.
