BDE first quarter report

p2pnet.net News:- BDE (Brilliant Digital Entertainment) says net revenues for the first quarter ended March 31, 2004, increased $2,507,000 from $586,000 in 2003 but nonetheless reports a net loss of $354,000 for the first quarter ended March 31, 2004, compared to a net loss of $897,000 for the first quarter of 2003.

Income from operations was $75,000 for the first quarter ended March 31, 2004, compared with a loss of $451,000 for the comparable period in the previous year, it says here, going on:

Nowithstanding, “rejections by the major music labels and movie studios” because of BDE’s “partnerships” and “progressive attitude to distribution of media on the Internet,” president and ceo Kevin Bermeister says the firm is, “encouraged by improvement in our operating performance and continue to focus our resources on acquiring quality, digital content for distribution”.

Sharman Networks bought Kazaa from its Dutch creators Kazaa BV in 2002 and promptly loaded it with remora-like BDE software, beginning Kazaa’s continuing decline.

“If you’ve installed a recent version of KaZaA, then your system will also have had a copy of Brilliant Digital Entertainment’s B3D Projector installed without your knowledge,” Thomas Scott wrote on his home page here way back.

B3D is still around and in the meanwhile, BDE also owns Altnet which in January was to be delisted for failing to meet minimum stock market financial requirements.
