Microsoft to pay Lindows costs
p2pnet.net News:- Not only has a Dutch court decided Lindows can keep on being Lindows - in The Netherlands, anyway - Microsoft has also been ordered to pay court costs.
They only amount to $1,158, says internetnews.com here. But it’s the thought that counts : )
Bill and the Boyze wanted to slam Michael Robertson, Lindows ceo and founder, with a 100,000 Euros-a-day fine (some $122,177) against Lindows "until all references were removed," says the report.
Lindows argued that as a corporate term, Lindows, Inc. fell outside the scope of the trademark suit and the ruling states, "the term Lindows is infringing only when it is used to take unfair advantage of the Windows trade name in the marketplace," adds the story.
