China anti-online porn war
p2pnet.net News:- China wants to use "high technology" to stamp out online pornography.
"Investigations show that about 80 per cent of teenagers have entered porn websites on occasion," says China Daily here.
"If proper filter technology is adopted, most pornographic content on the Internet can be blocked. And in recent years such technology has been greatly improved."
China’s president Hu Jintao’s recently issued instructions "to wage a people’s war against pornography on the Internet" and in the past month, "30 domestic pornographic websites have been eliminated," the report states, continuing:
"Porn websites are a global poison. There are more than 700,000 of them worldwide, and that number grows by 200-300 every day. How to shield young people from Internet porn is an increasingly difficult task. Traditional measures have not been effective in this fight. It is a problem that demands high-tech solutions."
Most Chinese youngsters surf at home or in Net cafes and, "Since the government has made great efforts to crack down on illegal Internet bars, parents should play a supervisory role at home," says China Daily, adding, "Advanced technologies should be made available to parents.
"Parents should install filter software on home computers and master its use. And they should instruct their children to surf the Internet in a secure way."

Hi
It is FANTASTIC to see people and companies do something to stop porn. What can the people in the street do to help? I cannot just sit and watch anymore. I want to help.
