DIY P2P Manifesto
p2pnet.net News:- The quantity and quality of p2p technologies are inversely proportional to the numbers of lawsuits issued to stop p2p.
That’s Monty’s Third Law, Monty being Marco Montemagno.
We had an interesting email from him based on the Third Law and the contentions below:
- P2P is unstoppable
- P2P is positive for Companies
- P2P is positive for the market
- P2P is good for users
Montemagno, assistant professor of theories and techniques of online communication at the faculty of Arts and Philosophy, Cattolica University in Milan, Italy, says his P2P Manifesto is a p2p study as well as a project, released under Creative Commons license.
“All the readers can create their own P2P Manifesto,” he says. “The idea is to then collect on the blog all the different P2P Manifesto’s releases, to create a good knowledge base point about P2P issues.”
His blog is here, and/or download the manifesto in .pdf format (58,88KB), or as a BitTorrent.
Stay tuned.

The fact that scarcity is now truly a myth in the information related industries will require new approaches in order to analyze profitability and market structure.
New economic models will need to be developed to analyze a market where the age old concepts of limited production capacity and finite output are void.

This “manifesto” looks like it was written by a 12 year old. It doesn’t actually contribute anything useful to the debate, other than to repeat (in a rather inarticulate way) what has been pretty obvious for years.
What is needed is working code, not childish rants.
