MPA’s Bollywood search warrants
p2pnet.net News- Hollywood’s MPA (Motion Picture Association) says it now has general search and seizure warrants which give police the authority to, “search any premises suspected of containing pirated products, and permits officers to open locked premises without delay”.
Is this a run-on from the recent highly successful operation which culminated in the arrest of two men in Mumbai (formerly Bombay)?
Nope. This time around, the warrants cover the entire city of Delhi.
“The issuance of general search and seizure warrants greatly empowers police in the battle against illegal copyright theft, and confirms the commitment of the Indian government and judiciary to fighting a crime that badly damages the country’s film industry,” says the MPA sanctimoniously, adding:
“This year, police in Delhi, working with MPA investigators, have conducted 28 raids.”
The organization, owned by the major Hollywood movies studios, doesn’t say how many genuinely serious investigations are abandoned while India’s police forces rush around, taking care of Bollywood business.

How is it “damaging” the Indian film industry. The unique thing about Bollywood is that it is a ‘local’ phenomena. That is, it is almost exclusively enjoyed by the masses of Indians and some Pakistanis. “Hollywood” has no place in “Bollywood” — heck, we’re talking about different tasks, preferences, beliefs & values, story-lines, and culture here. Sure, some of Hollybird’s stuff is “watched” and enjoyed by some Indians, but that portion is miniscule compared to local Bollywood productions.
It’s just so sad the Hollybird producers are so LAME! The shit they “produce” is just that, Shit. Watch some international movies — it may take a while to get ‘accustomed’ to the culture difference — but, soon you’ll have a wider view of the world, and in the process have been expose to movies with ACTUAL GOOD STORIES, PLOTS, and ACTING.
That’s my 2 International Cents!
