Pro baseball dumps iTunes
2pnet.net News:- With Apple jealously worrying itself over who uses the term ‘pod,’ it’s to lose an estimated 40,000 to 50,000 podcast downloads a day.
That’s because Major League Baseball has decided to drop iTunes podcast clips of its games, says The San Jose Business Journal, quoting The Wall Street Journal.
"Apple, which decides how to promote the various podcasts in its directory, was asked last week to remove all MLB promotions," says the story.
MLB Advance Media chief executive Bob Bowman, "insisted that there are no hard feelings between the two, according to the Journal story, but the podcast-pulling may nevertheless have repercussions for other media outlets that offer free content on the iTunes Store," says CNET News.
